Bonded T1 MPLS Providers
Point-to-point circuits are only offered as t1, ds3 or OC (Optical Carrier) circuits. Because MPLS utilizes bonded t1 as an option, WANs (wide area networks) can now be far more scalable, and each location of the network can more efficiently be allocated the exact bandwidth needed for that specific that location on the network. With the recent advent of MLPPP (Multilink Point-to-Point Protocol) technology, bonded t1 can now function as one large bandwidth pipe, rather than multiple smaller (single t1) pipes. With MPLS networks, MLPPP and packet prioritization ( Class of Service) enables bonded t1 to deal much more efficiently with large applications and multiple services, such as VoIP, video conferencing, and routine data over a single circuit. Unlike fractional ds3 or full ds3, bonded t1 is provided over copper telephone wires. For this reason, bonded t1 is often installed for free, without the need for expensive build-out usually required for ds3. With bonded t1, up to 8 t1s can be bonded into a single pipe, for up to 12 mbps (megabits per second). If locations in a network need circuits which are 12 mbps, or less, bonded t1 is often far less expensive than fractional ds3. MPLS networks are commonly provided with all equipment needed. They are completely managed, and frequently monitored by the provider every 3 to 5 minutes, to ensure optimal performance. Often outdated frame relay or point-to-point networks can be replaced for free, with an MPLS network that is virtually turn-key, costs less monthly, has higher bandwidth and is far more efficient. T1 Data (Internet), an Introduction
Writen by: Dennis Green
A T1 data line is a high speed, 1.54 megabits per second (Mbps), circuit which is comprised of 24 individual DS-O circuits. Each DS-O channel has a speed of 64 kilobits per second (Kbps). For perspective, your home telephone line is likely a DS-O line. T1 data lines are also at times referred to as DS1 circuits. T1 data is carried through two twisted pairs of copper wires. Virtually, all residences and businesses currently have two pairs of copper wires running to them. T1 lines are capable of delivering 1.54 Mbps simultaneously in both directions, one direction for each pair of copper lines. Because T1 data service is repeater driven (signal is digitally reestablished every 6000 feet), it is available several miles from telephone central offices. For this reason, T1 service can be available to virtually all of the businesses in the US. T1 lines are dedicated, in that they are always connected, and are also extremely stable. Most reputable providers include service level agreements which guarantee the reliability of the T1 lines they offer. Although the term T1 is commonly used when referring to a dedicated high bandwidth connection to the internet, T1 circuits can transfer data in many forms to accomplish a variety of functions. These include: fractional t1 (commonly 128 Kbps to 756 Kbps), burstable (less expensive for companies which normally do not need a full DS1/T1), integrated T1 (one T1 line comprised of any combination the types of DS1/T1 listed here), channelized DS1 (one form of integrated T1), point-to-point (direct and constant DS1 connection between to locations), dynamic integrated (a more state-of-the-art alternative to channelized integrated), local (local phone service), PRI, MPLS (multiprotocol label switching), and frame relay. Each of these types of DS1/T1 has advantages over the others, depending on the specific needs of your company. Also, the availability of each is based on the offerings of each T1 provider and the geographic location. As the authorized sales agent for the top 20 T1 providers in the country, we are able to provide real-time availability and comparative price quotes for any address in the country.
